National Day on Writing

Welcome to the National Day on Writing Blog!

In light of the significance of writing in our national life, to draw attention to the remarkable variety of writing we engage in, and to help writers from all walks of life recognize how important writing is to their lives, October 20, 2009, will be celebrated as The National Day on Writing.

We invite students, faculty, and staff to respond to the questions posted on this blog as a way to celebrate the role writing plays in our education, our lives, and our society. We all write; whether it is at school, for work, on-line, or in text messages, everyday people communicate using the written word. This blog was designed as a space where writing can be celebrated and enjoyed as a means to share our thoughts, ideas, goals, and dreams.
