Welcome to the Hostos Community College Social Network

This site is your entryway to the Hostos Social Network. This space is provided by the Office of Instructional Technology as a service to the Hostos Community. In order to have access you have to log in using your Hostos login credentials (i.e. the same username and password you use to check your Hostos email)

Some blogs and groups that are currently active are private. This means that only blog / group members can access them and submit postings and/or comments. If you are a member of a blog community, you will see a list of the blogs and groups you are member of under the upper left menu called “My Blogs”

If a department /unit would like to have a blog for internal discussion, the chairperson or the unit coordinator should contact the Office of Instructional Technology at OIT@hostos.cuny.edu.

Why a Social Network?

With the advancement of technology, it is easy to stay connected with the things that are important to us. A social network gives us the opportunity to easily create, contribute, and learn within a community; these are a few reasons why the Hostos Social Network was created. We want to learn about the Hostos Community, and we invite you to join the Hostos Social Network.

Why Blogs?

A blog (short for weblog) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order.

A Blog is an excellent means of communication within a community, providing commentary or news on particular subjects; and readers have the ability to leave interactive comments. A blog can contain text, images, videos, audio (MP3 and podcasts), and to other media related to its topic, such as blogs and websites.
