Welcome to OIT
Office of Instructional Technology
The Office of Instructional Technology (OIT) represents the College’s effort to make technology an effective and integral part of the academic endeavor of the institution. The mission of the OIT is threefold: to enhance professional development which will empower faculty to apply new technologies that will improve the teaching and learning process, to provide the student body with a level of computer literacy that will enable them to participate more effectively in their education, and to create a supportive environment in which the possibilities of distance education can be realized to better serve the needs of an ever increasing large number of students who find it difficult to fit their family and work responsibilities into a traditional academic schedule.
It is through the artful collaboration of the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Instructional Technology, the Committee of Academic Computing and the Instructional Technology Support Center that the achievement of the following goals is attained.
The Goals- Goal I: To ensure faculty participation in the decision and policy-making processes in matters related to instructional technology.
- Goal II: To achieve the integration of technology to improve the teaching and learning through out the course offerings at Hostos Community College.
- Goal III: To increase the educational opportunities for our students by developing online courses and programs.
